Rhys Evans

Managing Director

Rhys is a seasoned leader with over 10 years of experience in senior and general management roles across various industries in WA. 

Currently, he holds the position of Director of Evale Drilling, Managing Director at Birli Civil, and General Manager at THM Electrical and Communications. Rhys has been pivotal in establishing and expanding these WA-based businesses and is deeply committed to their strategic growth and success. 

His qualifications span leadership and management, training and assessment, workplace health and safety, as well as environmental and quality management systems. Notably, Rhys played a crucial role in developing and securing ISO certification for the integrated management system at THM Electrical and Communications. 

With a passion for driving organisational success and a proven track record in diverse sectors, Rhys continues to make significant contributions to the companies he leads. 

Damien Taylor

Director

Damien Taylor and his family are members of the Amangu community, part of the  larger Yamatji Nation in the Mid-West of Western Australia. While the family  originates from this region, they have worked extensively across WA. This includes  Port Hedland, where Damien was raised and later lived with his family. Damien’s  father, Kevin Taylor is an Aboriginal spokesperson within the community and wellknown sports identity throughout WA. 

Damien’s Elders hold significant standing with the people and communities around  New Norcia, Three Springs, and the Great Mid-West region of WA since the late  19th century and into the early 20th century. Damien is proud to continue his  ancestors’ legacy through his ability to transcend business and Country and  advocate for Indigenous people. 

Damien has been working in the industry for more than 15 years. He has the  requisite skills and process knowledge to deliver quality business outcomes. Having  worked “on the tools” and in a supervisory capacity in many Tier 1 project  environments, he respects health and safety objectives balanced with clients’  productivity and quality expectations. 

Damien is the majority owner of Birli Group and Birli Civil, and owner of Minjiny Surface Treatments (based in Port Hedland), where he performs the executive operational management role supported by his brothers.

Tom Males

Director

Tom is a licensed electrician and experienced project manager and leader in the building and construction industry. 

In 2016, he founded THM Electrical and Communications with a vision to offer reliable electrical and communications services, exceptional maintenance support and high-quality products – all from under one roof. Under his leadership, THM Electrical and Communications has grown rapidly, employing over 60 staff members globally and engaging in major construction projects throughout WA. 

Tom is passionate about strategic growth, people leadership, process optimisation and continuous improvement. He is dedicated to delivering building solutions that not only meet but exceed compliance, quality and safety standards.
